A 28 year old Washington woman and resident who splashed her own face with drain cleaner and then claimed a black woman had attacked her has officially pleaded guilty to making a false statement to a public official and apologized to African Americans saying she was genuinely and desperately sorry. Bethany Storro claimed she was attacked last Aug. 30 in a Vancouver park.

Bethany Storro received a suspended one-year sentence Friday for the misdemeanor. She arrived in court wearing a black suit and a clear mask strapped over her scarred face.  Prosecutors agreed to drop a felony theft count if she completes community service, continues mental health treatment and repays nearly $4,000 in police overtime. Her two other theft charges were dismissed.

Do you think she was let off too easy?
