Woman Impersonating a Police Officer Robs a Tyler Man

A woman who claimed to be a police officer stole numerous items out of a car after she told the driver of the vehicle she needed to search his vehicle.

Tyler Police say the incident occurred at a car wash located at 5030 Highway 31 West shortly after 8p.m. Sunday night.

The victim stated that an unknown white female with short brown hair, possibly in her 40’s, approximately 5-5 and 130 pounds, approached him as he was parked near the car vacuums.

She presented a badge that led him to believe that she was a police officer.  She informed him that she was going to search his car or he was going to be arrested.  After searching his car, she stole a few unknown items from him.
