Do you remember a time when $5 was considered gas money? Well, those days are over as the summer months arrive and most of us Texans are planning family vacations and road trips gas prices in Texas are on the rise again.

From our media partner KLTV, the retail price of gas increased .2 cents to an average of $2.78 per gallon.  We are not too far from the national gas price according to AAA on Thursday (May 31th) the cost of gasoline nationwide is at $2.96 per gallon.

If you are planning on traveling to Midland that’s where you will find the most expensive gas at an average of $3.10 per gallon as to where the cheapest gas can be found in Wichita Falls have the cheapest gas at $2.65 per gallon.

Now, I’ve been driving around East Texas and I noticed gas prices are slightly going down so my friendly word of advice is when you see your gas tank is half way empty fill it up.  However, I hope the prices continue to lower as I prepare for an upcoming road trip.
