Whataburger’s Celebrates Founder Harmon Dobson’s 100th Birthday By Offering $1 Burgers Today

Whataburger founder Harm-n Dobson opened Whataburger #1 back in August of 1950. It was just a tiny burger stand offering something that folks had never seen; a burger that was so big that you had to hold it with both hands!   It was an instant and huge success. So Harmon decided to expand the business to other markets. In 10 years, Harmon opened Whataburger #21 in Pensacola, Fla. -- the first Whataburger outside of Texas.
