For Kansas City Royals fans like others around Major League Baseball, hot dogs are a tradition, but for John Coomer it has been tragic.

In a 2009 Royals baseball game between innings, the Royals mascot threw hot dogs in the stands, in which Coomer was struck by one on his eye. He went on to file a lawsuit against the team, but lost.

It was said that had it been a ball, bat or any equipment the court ruled the team would have been liable. The suit was thrown out, but now attorneys representing Coomer are seeking to reopen the case and want $20,000 in damages.

We'll see if this will change the game.
