Wale may be considered a new-gen MC by most accounts, but he's been putting in work for the better part of a decade.

While he has contained a considerable amount of commercial success and has always kept his name in the conversation with a slew of quality releases, he has yet to become beloved as some of his contemporaries. From social media presence and moving the needle, the D.M.V-bred rapper is set on turning the tide and silencing his critics with his upcoming LP, The Album About Nothing.

The first step in that mission is the release of the projects much-anticipated lead single, "The Matrimony." It's no surprise that Mr. Folarin would collaborate with some quality vocal talent, but calling in the young OG that is Usher was certainly a smart and effective play on his part.

Usher wastes no time and sets the mood effectively, delivering the infectious hook that will be played ad naseum on radio and various other places for the next few months at least. "If there's a question of my heart, you've got it / it don't belong to anyone but you / if there's a question of my love, you've got it / baby, don't worry, I've got plans for you," he sings, throwing Wale an alley-oop in the form of his stellar vocal performance.

Wale shines bright as well, delivering two solid verses centered around going through the motions of being able to fully commit to a woman. "I'm promising you better though, your friends saying let him go / And we ain't  getting younger, I could give 'em now, but I could promise you forever," he raps, and actually backs up the hype that was placed behind this record.

In addition to his new track, the MC also delivers the visual to his soulful cut, "MMG Under God."
