It's no secret that we love our brisket in the Lone Star State. There's also no denying that opinions vary greatly on which places do it best & we're all willing to "sell" our points-of-view on it as long as necessary to convince someone why we're right!  So get ready for another round of "discussion" in reaction to this latest report...

We got the details from wideopeneats.com in their latest publication.  Considering this is a state-wide survey, which encompasses a lot of serious brisket-making contenders, we'll kick-off the Top-10 recap with a salute to Joseph's Riverport Bar-B-Que in Jefferson. They are admirably representing East Texas with a #2 finish in this analysis.

With a perfectly seasoned bark to compliment a juicy inside, sliced or chopped, the brisket meat is incredible in sandwich form.

The top spot goes to Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que, which many of my old Austin pals have said is definitely worth the drive northwest from their city to the nearby town of Llano.

I've personally enjoyed many a feast at the 6th place finisher - Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood (not that far southwest of Austin). They also have locations in Round Rock near the Dell Diamond baseball park & mini-versions at Austin-Bergstrom Airport & Darrel K Royal- Texas Memorial Stadium.

Let's also not forget about Stanley's in Tyler and Bodacious in Longview. They always deserve a mention around these parts for best anything that comes off the cue.
