Tyler ISD Color Guard Earns Regional Championship!

Congratulations to the Color Guard of John Tyler High School in Tyler who recently earned the Winter Guard Regional Championship title while competing in the East Texas Regional Competition at TJC. The JTHS Color Guard competed in Team Flag/Rifle and Winter Guard, earning 1st Division Superior Honors along with an award for Most Outstanding Choreography! These young people also walked away with the two top spots in the solo competitions. Congratulations to these outstanding students: (Captain) Renecia Sanders, (Assist. Captian) Melanie Johnson, Nick Sheffield, Nicole Allen, Brianna Nickerson, Nayeli Aguilar, and Lanisha Bowie.

Nick Sheffield was crowned champion along with Nayeli Aguilar being named 1st runner up in the solo comps.

We are very proud of them! The director of the JTHS Color Guard is Gabby Gray. The team is currently preparing for the National Competition at the Ft. Worth Convention Center, March 23-24th.
