Do your New Year's Eve plans involve you hosting a party? If so, we've got the tips you need to make it the very best!

New Year's Eve is all about celebrating the start of a new year, second chances and new adventures, but don't forget to remember all the great things of the past year too! If you can keep that in mind, everything at the party will be perfectly suited to the night!

First things first, you're going to need a stellar guest list to make your party great - so be sure to grab all your friends and family! Choose a theme and go with it - black tie, Greatest 2013 Moments or casual are all fun!

As for decor, go with simple decorations, they can sometimes make the biggest impact! Oh, and don't forget to have plenty of 2014 gear for all your guests - glasses, hats, tiaras, boas, necklaces and whatever else you like to have fun pictures made in! And you'll obviously need to have a camera or smart phone on hand to capture all the great moments of the night!

And rather than just relying on your party guests to mingle and entertain themselves, why not give them a little help by having a few activities for everyone to participate in? There are TONS of NYE games that make parties a little more entertaining, check out these printable cards if you need an idea! Plus, there are plenty of other games that could be played too!

And what's a party without good music, right? So plan ahead and make a playlist with all of your favorites from 2013 (be sure to include to great songs, the ones that get stuck in your head and the most annoying ones for a full spectrum!). And for a little something extra, throw in some NYE classics that make everyone want to sing along!

Now for the big stuff - food and drinks. But why does they have to take up so much energy and focus? Go casual with the foods and serve hefty appetizers! These will keep everyone full and they're a lot easier to clean up than a full meal would be. As for drinks, have a simple variety. In addition to the traditional champagne, have a few other options and plenty of mixers for your guests. There's no need to go out of your way to buy every type of alcohol for your party - especially if you won't drink the leftovers later.

And don't forget to send your guests home with a party favor! You could coordinate with your theme or do something NYE related! A popular NYE idea (especially in the South) is to send your guests with a bag of black-eyed peas and a recipe to cook them in because they are said to bring good luck in the new year.
