Three Things That Really Bother Me Around East Texas
I'm a pretty easing going dude. Some say a little too easy going but I do have those certain few things that really irritate me. Talking politics is my number one pet peeve. But that's a whole article in itself. Here are three things that really get under my skin.
My First Irritation
I come in to work with one of our morning shows. So, I'm up, as the old saying goes, before the rooster crows. As I'm making my way down Broadway at 4:30 A.M., I run into a couple of intersections where the all four directions at the intersection will have a red light. What!? Broadway and Robert E. Lee Drive then Broadway and Donnybrook. I caught video of me pulling up to Broadway and Robert E. Lee Drive.
Why is this? At 4:30 in the morning? With no other vehicles on the road? Ugh!
My Second Irritation
Don't drive the wrong way in a parking lot with angled parking spots.
There are even directional arrows painted on the pavement to show which way to go, like a one way street. If you drive the wrong way up or down those lanes, there is not enough room for two cars to pass each other. Plus, if you're driving the wrong way, you can't get into those spots properly or risk rubbing a car on either side. Stop doing it!
My Third Irritation
How well are the city curfews enforced? Both Tyler (11 P.M. to 6 A.M. Sunday through Thursday, Midnight to 6 A.M. Friday and Saturday) and Longview (11 P.M. to 6 A.M. Sunday through Thursday, Midnight to 6 A.M. Friday and Saturday and during summer months) have a curfew for minors. But yet, Friday night I was at Whataburger with a friend at 2 A.M. and there were five girls who walked in ahead of us who couldn't have been any older than 15 with no parent supervision. Maybe that's a "get off my lawn moment" but it's not pleasant to hear five cell phones all playing five different videos at the same time, with no headphones, while I'm trying to enjoy a Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuit with sausage, egg and cheese.
Other than these three, I'm a pretty easy going guy. But, now, it's your turn. What is something that extremely irritates you?
