It's time to say goodbye to summer, and hello to fall. September has come to a close and this weekend marks the first weekend in October and the first full weekend of fall. To help you kick off this weekend, we put together a list of all the things going on this weekend. Check it out.

Just like every weekend, Friday Night Football is the big event here in East Texas. The season is already at its halfway mark, so if you haven't made it to a game yet its time. You can go to the Whitehouse homecoming game vs. Hallsville, or the Kilgore vs. Pine Tree game. Football is a great way to start your weekend.

Also this weekend is the last weekend to experience the East Texas State Fair. So if you haven't braved the mass amounts of people and had a funnel cake, then head over this weekend. Cody Canada and the Departed will be putting on an awesome show Saturday night. So grab the family and head over to the East Texas State Fair for a grand time. If you miss out on this, you have to wait a whole year for it to come again, so go enjoy it!

If you are in the Longview area, head on over to downtown Longview for Music on the Plaza. This is a great local event spotlighting local artists and businesses. Ladies, grab your girl friends and head downtown and enjoy some shopping at the downtown market and lunch on the plaza, while you enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

Since it is the start of fall, its time for all kinds of fun fall activities. The Moore Farms U-Pick Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze opens this Saturday. You can take the kids on a hayride, corn maze, or pick pumpkins to carve for Halloween. It opens Saturday at 10 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m., and on Sunday it runs from 12p.m.-5p.m. and costs only $10 for a pumpkin and all activities. This is the perfect way to kick off the beginning of the fall season.
