Things to Do in East Texas the Weekend of Oct. 23-25
The beautiful fall weather continues to bless us here in East Texas and this weekend we're expecting temperatures to be a bit higher than normal and there's going to be plenty of sunshine available for all of the events happening around East Texas this weekend. Here are a few things going on right now through this weekend:
This national competition features firefighters from around the nation competing in physical challenges as if they were fighting live fires. The competition takes place at Broadway Square Mall near Sears and wraps up on Saturday.
Mt. Vernon is your destination this weekend if you love wine! The festival features 22 wineries from around the state of Texas. In addition to sampling wine (for a nominal fee) there will be cooking demonstations, arts and crafts, entertainment and more. The event runs Friday from 5p - 9p and Saturday from 10a - 5p.
Zombies will be invading McWhorter Park in Longview Saturday during the Zombie 5K Fun Run! The ROTT Zombie Fun Run will kick off at 9a and will feature three different classes of participation - survivor, running dead or a zombie dead end crew member. Lunch will be served after the run and Carter Blood Care will be on hand collecting donations of blood.
Come to the zoo this weekend and experience Boo At The Zoo! There will be trick or treating throughout the zoo for the kids during this no so scary Halloween fun! Boo At The Zoo @ Caldwell Zoo is happening Saturday and Sunday from 1p - 4p
