The 2013 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductees have been announced and 12 new members are a part of this elite group, led by defensive guru and point guard Gary Payton, who earned the nickname "The Glove" because of his defensive prowess.

Just ask greats such as Michael Jordan and John Stockton, who battled him on the court for 17 seasons. Payton was a nine-time all-star and played with the Seattle Sonics, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat, where he established himself as one the best defenders and trash talkers in NBA history.

Also on the list are former NBA and college coach Rick Pitino (who coached both the Louisville Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats to NCAA titles), sharp-shooter Benard King, WBNA star and three-time Gold Medalist Dawn Staley, former University of Houston coach Guy Lewis and Jerry Tarkanian.
