For the first time in school history the Texas Tech Red Raiders advanced to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament that is why they should hold their heads high as their season came to an end by the hands of Villanova during their match up on Sunday by the score of 71-59.

KCBD reports, the 3rd seed Red Raiders put the pressure on Villanova early by scoring the first 7 points of the game and leading 9-1 three minutes into the game.   However, Villanova stormed back with a 35-14 run to give the Wildcats a 36-23 lead at halftime.

The Red Raiders put up a fight in the second half to bring the lead down to 8 points, but the Wildcats was too much for them down the stretch.  Keenan Evans finished with 12 points and Jarrett Culver had 11.

Chris Beard in his second-year coaching Texas Tech finished the season with a record of 27-10.  They have truly made college basketball fun again especially during March Madness.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they made it again and possibly making the Final Four.

GO RED RAIDERS!
