Need another reason to name why Texas is the greatest state in the union? It was just named as the best state in America to make a living.

Money Rates, a personal finance site, used information from the U.S. Department of Labor and Statistics and other sources to put together a list of the best and worst states in the U.S. to make a living.

They used five factors: average wages, state tax rates, cost of living, unemployment rates, and incidents of workplace injuries.

Texas is middle of the road when it comes to average income, but it ranked at or near the top for cost of living, unemployment rate and workplace injuries. And it doesn't hurt to not have a state income tax.

Texas topped the list, followed by Washington and Wyoming. Hawaii, Oregon and Maine were listed as the three worst. Here are the full lists:
