Was it a coming out party for Cam Newton? Now in his third season with the Carolina Panthers, Newton went 19-of-28 for 209 yards passing and 62 rushing as the Panthers shocked the New England Patriots 24-20 on Monday Night Football.

This game became an instant classic once again due to the officials, on a controversial call in which at the end of the game it appeared that Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly held Rob Gronkowski on a pass in the end zone from Tom Brady and a flag was thrown, but the call was overturned because it was deemed an uncatchable pass.

Brady's reaction to officials may cost him a fine from the league, but nevertheless, Carolina moved to 7-3 and are now legitimate in talks as an NFL powerhouse. The Pats go to 7-3 as well.
