Suspected Intoxicated Driver Leaves Tyler Man in Critical Condition

A major traffic accident in Tyler just after midnight Wednesday has left one person hospitalized in critical condition after he was hit by a person suspected of being intoxicated.

Police say a car driven by 23-year-old Casey Patterson, who had a green turn arrow light was attempting to make a left turn onto Troup Highway off Loop 323, was struck by a truck driven by 24-year -old Lawrence Woodham, who ran a red light.

Woodham is now jailed and charged with intoxication assault. Patterson remains hospitalized at East Texas Medical Center in critical condition.
