UPDATE:  Great news, Stoney has found a new person to love him the rest of his life and has been adopted!  However, there are many other pets looking for a fur-ever home, please visit Pets Fur People in Tyler to adopt an animal today.

If you're a Dachshund enthusiast, then you've gotta meet Stoney.

Six year old Stoney is a male Dachshund who found his way to the Humane Society's Pets Fur People in Tyler in a not so traditional way. Stoney's owner passed away and he's been lonely since. Stoney is looking for a new person or family to give him some much needed unconditional love like he had before. Stoney weighs about 22 pounds and has been neutered and is just as clever, devoted and spunky as any other Dachshund. He is current on starting vaccinations including rabies and has been microchipped for identification purposes. In addition, Stoney will go home with a starter kit of food, bedding, a collar and leash and a certificate for half price on basic obedience from Tyler Obedience Training Club.

For additional information on adopting Stoney call 903.597.2471 or check the Humane Society’s Pets Fur People website. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. - closed for lunch 1 - 2 p.m. The Humane Society’s Pets Fur People is the oldest brick and mortar no kill shelter in East Texas.

Pets Fur People offers dog boarding and routine vaccinations, except for rabies, to the public for dogs and cats. Follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Please be a responsible pet owner - spay or neuter your pets. Donations are appreciated.
