Solange will be honored at the 2018 Women In Music event presented by Billboard magazine. The annual event salutes women who have made an impact in the music industry.

The Grammy-winning singer will receive the Impact Award, which honors women who “use their voice to empower and develop new leaders of tomorrow through their on-air persona, platform, and philanthropic efforts to inspire social change across the masses."

Solange is a prime example of that through her work as the founder of Saint Heron, her independent record label. In addition, she has used her platform to address social issues and performed for former President Barack Obama.

Solange joins previously announced honorees Mary J. Blige, who will receive the Icon Award, while Selena Gomez is Billboard’s Woman of the Year for 2017. Also, singers Camila Cabello and Kehlani are this year's Breakthrough Artist and Billboard's Rule Breaker, respectively.

"Whether entertaining sold-out crowds or signing the next big artist, the women we celebrate are powerful leaders and pioneers, creating inspirational legacies and opening doors," said Dana Miller, Chief Marketing Officer, The Hollywood Reporter– Billboard Media Group.

The Women in Music event will be live streamed via Twitter on Thursday (Nov. 30) from 9PM to 12AM ET.
