The cold front that will  be moving through East Texas this weekend is expected to drop our high temperatures to the 50s, and it'll even be bringing snow to East Texas. But the snow's only coming to a specific location -- downtown Kilgore!

The City of Kilgore is preparing for near-blizzard conditions as the Mount Kilgore snow hill is created for kids and adults to slide down as many times as they want during this one-day event.

Mount Kilgore snow hill will be created on Commerce Street and will be operational from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22. It's free for all ages!

In addition to sliding down the snow hill, kids can get lost in the snow maze, play in the Kids Zone, which includes face painting, wagon rides, balloon animals and more. Kids may also get qualified to win a new bike and have their pictures taken with Santa.

Although it sounds like an event for kids, there's a separate snow hill for adults to slide down! Adults can also shop at the many vendors and downtown shops, too. When you get a bit wore out, relax with some food from the street vendors and kick back and listen to some local entertainers.

Downtown Kilgore will be decorated for Christmas because the city's Christmas parade will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
