Snoop Lion Roars About Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Success’ and ‘Hustle’

Kendrick Lamar's debut album 'good kid, m.A.A.d. City' has garnered rave reviews from critics and from his rap peers in the game. One them is Snoop Dogg/Lion, who also received critical praise for his debut album 'Doggystyle' nearly 20 years ago.

"I love Kendrick Lamar, I love his success, I love his story, his hustle," he told MTV News. "Standing for something and being his own, tryin' to hold this thing up as far as the West Coast and now we got somebody that can really run with it from a young perspective and put a different point of view."

Fa shizzle, Snoop. As PopCrush has stated and many critics have agreed, 'GKMC' belongs in the pantheon of classic West Coast albums like 'Doggystyle' and Ice Cube's 'AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted' and 'Death Certificate.'

Of course, there are always going to be some haters. Former Bad Boy Records artist Shyne, who hasn't released an album in ages, went on Twitter and wrote that K-Dot's 'GKMC' album was "trash." Really, Shyne? Please stop it.

Snoop isn't paying attention to any of the negative comments. The veteran rhyme-slinger recognizes true talent and respects the 25-year-old Compton rapper's grind. "I mean, this is awesome for me, myself as one of the OGs in the game to sit back and watch the young homey have his way and really dazzle the people with great music, with a great show and a new sound," he says.
