Usually at the end of the year or beginning of a New Year people make resolutions on making healthier lifestyle changes and losing a few pounds.

Some have succeeded and others well, not so so much.  However, I have fallen into the list of individuals who plan on making adjustments to my eating habits and health only to get side tracked and go back to my old habits.

Recently after a minor health scare I decided to get a physical so I made an appointment just to make sure things were ok with me.

During my appointment, which felt like forever my Dr. asked me some key questions and drew blood for testing.

Fast forward to the results of my physical my Dr. sat me down and told me “I had a clean bill of health!”  However, he told me that my blood sugar and cholesterol levels were slightly high and I needed to lose some weight.


After talking with some friends, they told me about the “10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse” by J.J. Smith.  Now I am no stranger to Ms. Smith because I actually have her book and I drink smoothies every day, but to commit for 10 days was the hurdle I needed to overcome.

So, I finally convinced myself to pick up the book and start this new journey of a healthier me.  After reading and getting an understanding of what was about to take place I went and got the ingredients for the cleanse and now it’s game time.

Day 1 of 10 was better than expected!  My smoothie consisted of apples, strawberries, grapes, and mangos all fruits that I love so it made the smoothie bearable.  Also, I had fruits, and nuts to snack on when I had hunger kicked in throughout the day.

I actually feel pretty good about my journey and I hope this will give you a jump start on living a healthier lifestyle especially men.

Friday will be the halfway point of the cleanse so I’ll make sure to keep you updated on my progress.
