It's been 19 NBA seasons, three consecutive championships, and four championship rings into the making, and Basketball great Shaquille O’ Neal has announced via Twitter that he will be retiring from basketball. The 7 ft. 1, Celtics center and ex-Laker star became the oldest active player in the NBA on March 5, 2010 after Lindsey Hunter retired!

"We did it. Nineteen years baby. I want to thank you very much, that's why I'm telling you first, I'm about to retire. Love you, talk to you soon. Once a businesman, always a businessman," O'Neal said with a smile later Wednesday. "I am the emperor of the social media network."

The 39 year old Shaq was a first overall draft pick in the 92′ draft; he was chosen by the Orlando Magic. O’ Neal went on to become one of the top centers in the NBA.

We wish Shaq the best with everything!
