Attention all my chronic smokers and even if you don't smoke I guess you can join in on the conversation. From WTHR NBC 13, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker (D) went on his Facebook Live steam to talk about his potential plan to legalize marijuana on a federal level.

The Senator said:

For decades, the failed War on Drugs has locked up millions of nonviolent drug offenders—especially for marijuana-related offenses—at an incredible cost of lost human potential, torn apart families and communities, and taxpayer dollars. The effects of the drug war have had a disproportionately devastating impact on Americans of color and the poor.

Today I’m introducing the Marijuana Justice Act, a bill that if passed will legalize marijuana at the federal level and go even further in an effort to remedy many of the failures of the War on Drugs. This is the right thing to do for public safety, and will help reduce our overflowing prison population.

Did you know in February 2017, The Town Hall stated that 83% of Texans support legalizing marijuana for some use; 53% would go beyond legal medical marijuana to allow possession for any use, the poll found. Also, two years ago, 24% of Texans said no amount of marijuana should be legal for any use and another 34% said it should be allowed only for medical use.

11 states, including the District of Columbus, legalized marijuana and 29 states legalized it for medical purposes, according to governing.com. Maybe they'll roll up a plan (see what I did there?) and work something out. Maybe not. We'll see.
