Hurricane Sandy has caused the most destruction to the north east that anyone has ever seen. Some of the most popular cities in the country are deserted. There is no one in sight, no lights to be seen for miles. It's desolate and devastating. As if the storm and flooding wasn't bad enough, there are almost a million people without power. One man was filming the flood and the storm, and happened to catch the moment the brightest city in the country went black.

Sean Blackwell was filming the massive flooding from Hurricane Sandy on the Lower East Side New York City at the moment of the blackout. It wasn't just a the corner the lights went out, it was the almost the entire city. The video is being described as 'apocalyptic' and has raked in almost 300,000 views on YouTube since being posted on October 29. Talk about impeccable timing.
