Washington Redskins coach will reportedly bench Robert Griffin. The Redskins will face the Atlanta Falcons with backup Kirk Cousins playing quarterback.

The decision is based on a less than impressive season, and Griffin was even benched in the second half of last Sunday's 45-10 loss to Kansas City.

At first the decision was made to bench Griffin for Sunday's game, but now The Washington Post is reporting Griffin is shut down for the rest of the season.

With a 3-10 record after having such high expectations coming into the season, it was time to make a move. The jury is still out, however, on Mike Shanahan's future with the Skins.
