The founding members of New Edition are moving forward without Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill. New Edition members Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins are now called RBRM, and separately they have several projects in the works.

In an interview with TV One’s Sister Circle Live, Bobby Brown revealed the premiere date for his BET biopic The Bobby Brown Story. The movie will air on Sept. 4 and 5. “It’s a great film. It’s my life,” he said.

Meanwhile, Michael Bivins and his wife, Teasha, recently welcomed their fourth child, a baby girl named Sanaah Amani Bivins, on May 3. Finally, Bell and DeVoe have musical projects with their wives.

When asked about how their longevity in the music game, RBRM point to two different things: multiple revenue streams and their fans' unwavering support.

"Being in the business for as long as we have, we have experience that every record is not lawny a hit; every tour is not always a sell out. Sometimes you have dry seasons. So with that in mind, it's definitely a smart idea to have [multiple] revenue streams," said Bell.

As for RBRM, Bell addressed the situation regarding the formation of the new group in light of their legal issue with Ralph and Johnny owning the New Edition trademark.

"I know that some of you may be a bit confused and, or disappointed that “NE, as you know us, is not going on tour at this time. Trust me when I tell you I’m just as disappointed as you are," he wrote in an Instagram post.

"Like all families, we have differences that plague us, and those indifferences must be dealt with and smoothed out for us to function as the single unit that will allow us to tour as NE again," he continued. "To be completely honest, I, for one, will rely on God’s infinite wisdom and timing to orchestrate the right time and place for that to happen. But make no mistake about it, when that time comes, please know that Ricky Bell will be there front and center ready to rock."

"In closing, I thank you in advance for your undying support and fervent prayers for a resolution. You are indeed our cherished gift from above," he concluded.
