New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton has been arrested and charged with various weapons offenses after his wife told police he threatened her with a firearm.

Felton, who is still in custody, was charged with felonies for second- and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, and a misdemeanor for fourth-degree possession of a firearm. Police said Felton was in possession of a gun he wasn't registered to own.

He turned himself in the New York police around 12:50 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The gun was reported by his wife, Ariane Felton, who is in the process of a divorce from Felton.

Charges are still pending, but this could be bad new for Felton since New York has extremely strict gun laws. Former NFL receiver Plaxico Burress served two years in prison for similar charges.
