R. Kelly is a free man....sorta!

According to TMZ, the troubled R&B singer was moved from solitary confinement to general population on Tuesday (September 3rd) per his attorney says he was only kept in solitary confinement as a form of punishment due to his fame and alleged crimes.

Kelly's attorney Greenberg further indicated that Kelly will be in general population and even though it's considered more dangerous, security measures will be provided for his safety.

Now he will be able to have 10-non attorney visits, and he will have more time for phone calls (to Tyrone) and allowed to send emails.

It was confirmed through Prosecutors that Kelly was being moved to general population due to a court filing, but he was put in solitary confinement briefly at his request.

R. Kelly's trail date is currently pending.
