Earlier this week, Queen Latifah told Howard Stern that OutKast was "about to work on a new album." The former rapper and talk show host has credibility because, for one, she's Queen Latifah, and two, she managed the duo during their early years. However, all of the excitement about a new album from Big Boi and Andre 3000 was shut down when she clarified her statement.

"PS: the rumor mill says I predicted an @Outkast album...except I didn't. Sorry to get twitter a flutter. XO," Latifah wrote on Twitter.

So, for now, there's no confirmation on OutKast being in the studio to work on a new album. A similar false alarm happened last year when Stephen Hill, the president of programming at BET, tweeted that Andre 3000 told him he was working on a project for 2014. The rapper's representative denied the claim soon after.

OutKast will still be in the news heavy this year because of their scheduled appearances at 40 festivals. The duo's last official collaboration is on 2008's 'Royal Flush' -- Big Boi's 'Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty' promotional single that didn't make the cut.
