Patriarch Of The Jackson Family Joe Jackson Dead At 89

Joseph “Joe” Jackson the patriarch of the Jackson family died today at the age of 89 in a hospice in Las Vegas at 3:30 a.m. this morning.

TMZ report, Jackson was hospitalized in June with terminal cancer and his family has been at his bedside.  His wife Katherine, and children and grandchildren were at his bedside.

On June 19^th the Rolling Stone report, Joe Jackson was battling terminal stage 4 cancer and his condition was turning for the worse.  Jackson has suffered physical ailments throughout the years including a stroke.

He was the father and sometimes manager of the original Jackson 5:  Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael even though Randy would also perform with them and his daughters Latoya, Rebbie, and Janet.

The news couldn’t come at a difficult time as just 2 days ago was the anniversary of the passing of Michael Jackson as he died of an accidental overdose in 2009.

As a child growing up I have always admired the Jackson family and even visited their home in Gary Indiana which is now considered a historical landmark.

Thank you Joe Jackson for leaving a musical legacy that will last a lifetime.  May you rest in peace.
