Whitney Houston’s sudden passing sparked a wave of condolences from all the corners of the internet. However, one of her biggest fans didn’t get to say goodbye because of an elite team of Navy Seals and their scary accurate marksmanship. We’re talking, of course, about Osama bin Laden.

The former al-Qaeda leader and mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks had more than just a passing fancy for the iconic singer. He was infatuated with her.

Author Kola Boof had a notorious love affair with the terrorist leader, a relationship she detailed in her 2004 book ‘Diary of a Lost Girl.’ The book details bin Laden’s deep love not just for Whitney’s music or talent, but for the internationally known singer herself.

Boof stated that on more than one occasion, bin Laden talked about wanting to arrange a meeting with Whitney in order to persuade her to become one of his wives. (Never mind the fact that his beliefs forbade him from marrying outside of his racial boundaries.)

The author revealed,

I tried to hide my outrage at his racist remarks, but it would come to pass that for the entire time that I would be trapped in his palm, Whitney Houston’s was the one name that would be mentioned constantly. How beautiful she is, what a nice smile she has, how truly Islamic she is but is just brainwashed by American culture and her husband—Bobby Brown, whom Osama talked about having killed, as if it were normal to have women’s husbands killed.”

He’s not the first tyrannical madman to fall for the singer’s bewitching voice. Former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein turned Whitney’s signature song “I Will Always Love You” into a campaign song for his faux 2002 re-election bid. The song, sung by Syrian pop star Mayyada Bselees, ran all day on his three state controlled television stations to proclaim the greatness of Hussein and the Baath Party. Be warned: the minute you listen to it, you won’t be able to get it out of your head.
