With all of the big music tours coming through Texas this summer, you might be headed to Dallas to catch some shows. If it's after July 1st, that road trip will cost more, and cut into your beer money - or Buc-ee's money.

The North Texas Tollway Authority says it's hiking rates starting July 1st, and that covers several roads in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  The Dallas North Tollway, plus 121-the Sam Rayburn Tollway, and 190-the George Bush Turnpike, are all included.  The Zipcash system works into Oklahoma and Kansas too.

The NTTA says it's not doing it just for the heck of it.  They've got bonds to pay, new construction projects in the works, and they're trying to keep up with inflation. And those Zipcash customers can get discounted rates, and get the sexy tag sticker on the windshield.

Workers are in the process changing out the signs to alert drivers to the new rates, and it all goes into effect on July 1st.

Just wanted to give you the heads up!  This won't stop us from taking in some shows in Dallas this year, and we'll still be going to Six Flags over Texas, hitting some Ranger and Cowboy games.  It just may mean we skip buying the t-shirts.
