One person was injured in an early morning shooting in Smith County. Smith County Sheriff’s were called to 2700 block of Old Gladewater Hwy around 2 am on Saturday (January 4), according to EastTexasMatters.com. Neighbors reported hearing shots. Deputies secured the residence and scene. A gunshot victim was taken to the hospital. Deputies identified the victim, who had been shot at the location on Old Gladewater Highway. The shooting was the result of an altercation with the shooter, who is identified. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
