One Direction Decline Michelle Obama’s White House Invite

One Direction met First Lady Michelle Obama backstage at the White House during the Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday night (March 31.) Mrs. O was so taken with the cuties that she invited them to the White House for the annual Easter Egg Hunt, which takes place on Easter Monday (April 9).

While the boys were thrilled to receive the invite, they respectfully declined due to scheduling conflicts. Boo! Thankfully, this isn’t a setback in diplomatic relations between the U.S. and the U.K. and the boys only said no because they had no other choice.

Apparently, One Direction turned on the charm and that cutie Harry Styles asked the First Lady how they could order pizza while at the White House. She revealed that they have to make their own. Hey, necessity is the mother of invention, right? It’s not like the Domino’s guy can waltz up to the front door of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to hand off a large cheese pie to the prez without sifting through several layers of the Secret Service! So when you have a hankering for a pizza, you roll up your sleeves and make your own.

A source told The Sun that the boys wanted to take the First Lady up on her offer and that they would “love to go another time.” Perhaps they can stage a private show for Michelle and first daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, along with that guy you may have heard of named Barack!
