New York Teen Faked Kidnapping Caught on Tape

A 16-year-old teen from the Bronx, whose kidnapping was caught on video, faked the whole thing!

The alleged kidnapping was caught on video by a security camera, but it turns out it was all fake! Karol Sanchez and her mother were walking down a street in the Bronx on Monday night, when she was snatched up by two men, according to the NY Times. Authorities had issued an Amber Alert for Karol, who has been found. Karol has confessed to police that it was hoax, set up by her, due in part to her relationship with her mom. Police said she called her mom “overprotective.” According to The Washington Post, police have not said whether Sanchez or the men who were a part of the hoax will face any charges.
