Beyonce Releases First Single From The Lion King "Spirit"

The Lion King will be hitting theaters soon and Beyonce released a new single from the forthcoming album "The Lion King: The Gift"

According to Billboard, Queen Bey released a new single "Spirit" last night (June 9th) while announcing the new album will be a love letter to Africa.

This is sonic cinema. This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip-hop and Afro Beat.

The new album will feature a beautiful multi-genre symphony with African influences from all over the continent, with special collaborations.

Beyonce also mentioned she wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link to the storyline.

The Lion King: The Gift is to be released the same day as the movie hit theaters July 19th.
