Well it's official!

Our neighbors in Louisiana are the fifth state to approve a ban on abortion after a fetal heartbeat can be detected.

According to ABC News, yesterday (May 30th) Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards signed it into law and the bill has no exceptions for pregnancies from victims of rape or incest.

This bill would ban abortions six weeks into the pregnancy, while most women wouldn't know if they were pregnant or not.

Governor Edwards released a statement,

As I prepare to sign this bill, I call on the overwhelming bipartisan majority of legislators who voted for it to join me in continuing to build a better Louisiana that cares for the least among us and provides more opportunity for everyone.

Edwards who is of the catholic faith was the reason behind the decision as it passed in the state House and Senate.

However, his fan base isn't too pleased with fellow Democrats and will possibly be challenged by the courts.
