Longview will be celebrating a state championship high school football team in January.

The mission began way back during the heat of August with one goal in mind - being state champions. That mission ended last Saturday (December 22nd) underneath the bright lights oft AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The Longview Lobo's laid claim to being state champions for the 6A Division II UIL trophy. This is the first state championship win for the Lobo's since their 1937 championship win.  This championship win was hard fought through the very end of regulation play.

Outscoring the Beaumont West Brook Bruins by one point late in the fourth quarter lead the Lobo's to their win. Now a parade in their honor has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 9th. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. in downtown Longview according to the Longview ISD Facebook page.

Longview ISD is working with the Longview, Texas - Government and Services on some additional details that we will get to you soon.
