During Black History Month we pay homage to many contributions African American’s have made in mainstream America.

Perhaps one of the greatest contributions is THE MUSIC!

From the Field songs of the 1700’s, to Ragtime of the 1800’s, and even Blues and Boogie Woogie during the early 1900’s.

During the 1950's it was Rock and Roll, and later it was Funk, Soul, Rap and R&B the list goes on and the Liberty Hall in Tyler is paying tribute to one of the most important genres of music GOSPEL!

On Monday (February 24th) join the City of Tyler as they present a night of hand clapping and foot stomping as they sing gospel classics from the past to the present.

Showtime is at 7 p.m. and they will feature most talented choirs in East Texas, showcasing music heard in church from the 70’s through today.

This event is free for the entire family!
