LIAR! Jussie Somllett Charged With Filing False Police Report

Jussie Smollett you got yourself and my hometown looking really bad right now!

According to ABC 7 Chicago, the Empire actor surrendered to authorities and was officially charged with federal disorderly conduct for filing a false police report for his alleged attack on January 29th.

The actor was charged with a Class 4 felony as Chicago detectives presented evidence before a Cook County grand jury per Chicago police spokesman Anthony Gugliemlni on his Twitter account.

Smollett's attorneys released a statement on the accusations

Like any other citizen, Mr. Smollett enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked. Given these circumstances, we intend to conduct a thorough investigation and to mount an aggressive defense.

Now I know you're wondering about the two brothers who allegedly assisted with the staged attack are seen on video purchasing gloves, ski masks and other items, but because they have cooperated with the authorities and testified before the grand jury they will not face any charges.

While everyone may have their own perception of the city of Chicago, I can be the first to attest that my city is beautiful and the people are wonderful and a major tourist attraction for outsiders.

Don't allow what you see on television or 'word of mouth' to deter you from learning about this place I call home.

As for Smollett, he should come clean and give his fans and the city of Chicago an apology for putting us in a negative light.

He is scheduled to appear in bond court around 1:30 p.m.
