Lee Thompson Young, who you may remember as the lead in Disney's 'The Famous Jett Jackson,' has died as the result of an apparent suicide. He was only 29.

Sources told TMZ that the actor was found inside his home with what cops believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

After starring on the Disney show, Young moved on to parts in 'Friday Night Lights,' 'Flash Forward,' 'Scrubs' and 'Smallville.' He was currently acting on the TNT crime-drama 'Rizzoli & Isles.'

Cast and crew became worried when Young didn't show up for work this morning and called his landlord to check in on the situation.

When Young's landlord showed up to see if the actor was all right, he discovered Young's body inside.

UPDATE: A rep for Young released the following statement, confirming his client's suicide: "It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning ... Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed."
