Kobe Will Have a Great Weekend After $24 Million Check from the Lakers

Kobe Bryant is not playing right now due to his ACL injury he suffered in the playoffs this past spring and has not revealed a set date for his return.

What he does know, the Los Angeles Lakers paid the all-star a whopping $24 million in one check on Friday. 

Kobe received the balloon payment as part of his negotiations when he signed his contract in 2012. He will receive just over $30 million for his 2013-13 salary, but the remaining $6.1 million will be paid over the rest of the season.

His contract expires June 30 and the Lakers have said they have every intention of resigning Kobe.
