Kelly Rowland is speaking out in regards to the backlash she has received after her fans thought she was condoning colorism and discrimination in relation to Chris Brown and his controversial "nice hair" song lyric on his single "Need A Stack."

According to Buzz Feed, in a recent interview Rowland left a message on Brown's Instagram and fans reacted in the wrong way because she wasn't referring to the song lyric instead she was giving him love on his new album.

I think I commented on something about him breaking a hit record or something and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, love you, Chris.’ That was it. And next thing I knew, I came up under all this scrutiny the next day that I’m waking up, and I’m like, ‘Wait, wow.’ They hate me, they hate me. I’m like, ‘OK, I don’t know why.

On this single "Need A Stack" featuring Lil Wayne and Joyner Lucas, the song lyric in which Brown is singing

Only wanna f--- the black b------ with the nice hair.

Kelly was in Australia during the incident and didn't realize what was being a message of congrats was taken out of context.

Rowland went on to say individuals are so quick to crucify each other when they don't know the backstory.

Chris Brown's Indigo is in stores now.
