Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss has kicked off the new year by welcoming a new addition to her family with the birth of her newborn baby. The R&B singer-turned-reality star delivered a baby boy on Wednesday (Jan. 6).

"We're so thrilled to announce the news of our bundle of joy, it's a dream come true," Burruss told E! News. Her husband, Todd Tucker, added, "Our daughters, Kaela and Riley, couldn't be happier about becoming big sisters."

The couple's baby boy arrived at 8:42 a.m., weighing in at 7 lbs., 6 oz. On Thursday (Jan. 7), Burrus revealed the name of their bundle of joy -- Ace Wells Tucker.

"We named our beautiful baby boy Ace because I wanted something unique," she told E! News. "When he becomes school age, hopefully he won't have to worry about another person in the class having his name."

Family and friends also visited Burrus at hospital including her friend and Xscape singer Tiny, VH1 reality star Rasheeda and Lil Wayne's ex-wife Toya Wright.

Burruss, who's originally claim to fame was being a member of the influential '90s R&B group, Xscape, has since transitioned into the world of television and has since become a power-broker in that arena off the strength of the Real Housewives franchise. She is also an accomplished songwriter, having penned hits for the likes of Mariah Carey, Destiny's Child, TLC, and Pink, among others and was the first African-American woman given the Songwriter of the Year award by ASCAP, which she won in 2000.
