When you think of the game show Jeopardy the only name that comes to mind is Alex Trebek.

Well the game show host took time out to let everyone know he is fighting stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

According to NBC News, the 78-year old shared a video announcing the news of his condition.

Hi everyone, I have some news to share with all of you and it’s in keeping with my longtime policy of being open and transparent with our Jeopardy fan base — Just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Trebek continued, saying the life span of his prognosis is not very encouraging, but he's going to fight this and also plan to keep working with the love and support from his family, friends, and with prayers also, he plans to beat the low survival rate statistics for the disease.

He also joked saying he has to beat the disease because he has to honor his contract to host the popular game show for three more years.

The American Cancer Society says the survival rate for pancreatic cancer is 9%.

Let's pray and send positive vibes to Alex Trebek and anyone else dealing with any form of cancer.
