The rumors and speculation that’s been around for a week or so has come true.  According to TMZ.com, Jennifer Lopez has called it quits and will not be returning to the American Idol judges table next season with Randy Jackson.

This announcement was hinted at when she was on the Today show on NBC Thursday and comes less than 24 hours after co-judge Steven Tyler announced he wouldn’t be returning to the show this season either.

Jennifer called the news into Ryan Seacrest this morning during his morning show in Los Angeles,

I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do.”

Apparently now, there’s talk too that Randy Jackson might not be returning to the show either.  Randy is the only judge from the original American Idol judging panel that included Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.

If Randy does decide to leave that will leave Ryan Seacrest standing alone on the stage until Idol producers can get three judges back on the panel.

Does all the changes in the judges seats hurt the creditability of American Idol?  Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
