When I think of Motown immediately artists like the Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, or Smokey Robinson come to mind.

So when the news of Jennifer Lopez doing a Motown tribute during the Grammy Awards this weekend it left a lot of people including myself scratching our heads.

According to Vibe, the performance was announced during a commercial for the event which aired on CBS.

Many have taken to social media to expression confusion over her involvement in the Motown.

Motown has been the symbol of black royalty when it comes to music, which birthed the careers of Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye and The Jackson 5 just to name a few.

This is by far no shade to Jennifer Lopez, but I would have been more excited to hear artist like Ne-Yo, Jennifer Hudson, or Ledisi to perform such a tribute especially during Black History Month.

The iconic record label will be celebrated two days later when the Recording Academy hosts its Motown 60: A Grammy Celebration concert at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater April 21st, at 7 p.m.

Which Motown classic would you not want JLo to sing?
