The Great White Way paid tribute to the late music icon Prince on Thursday (April 22). Jennifer Hudson and the Broadway cast of The Color Purple, as well as the cast of Hamilton honored the Purple One with moving performances.

Hudson and the Color Purple actors paid tribute to Prince on stage last night with a moving performance of the singer-guitarist's 1984 hit ballad, "Purple Rain."

J.Hud shared a personal Prince story before leading the cast in a touching rendition of the song.

"As we all know today we lost legend," she told the audience. He lost a legend who was good friend, who was dear to all of us."

Apparently, the music legend invited Hudson and the Color Purple to his press event about his upcoming memoir.

Finally, the cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda's hit musical Hamilton finished their theatrical performance with a rousing rendition of "Let's Go Crazy."
