Janelle Monae has always presented herself with an air of optimism. So it wasn't too surprising that her positive attitude and amazing pipes would get her an invite to the street where the "air is sweet."

The 'Electric Lady' singer recently recorded one of the new songs, 'Power of Yet,' which will be featured as part of the 45th season of 'Sesame Street,' premiering in September. Billboard joined Janelle to document the experience.

"I am so excited to be living one of my dreams -- to be here on 'Sesame Street,'" she told Billboard. "I'm here because I am teaching everybody on 'Sesame Street' the importance and the power of 'yet.' Never, ever, ever give up because there's so much power in 'yet.'"

The song is supposed to empower the residents of Sesame Street, the kids watching and even those older fans who still tune in from time to time to never give up on their goals. Singing next to Big Bird, who's trying to shoot a three-pointer, and Ernie who's dressed like he wants to be the next big lounge singer, Janelle is all smiles while she sings about how practice and determination will get you to do what you're set out to do.

The 'Q.U.E.E.N.' songstress has recently been nominated for both an NAACP Image Award as well as a BRIT Award and will be performing one of the six Super Bowl Blitz concerts at the end of the month.
